Dolls
are always fun: boudouir dolls languishing on the bed or chair;
dolls hanging around on the wall; dolls with legs swinging and
dangling from a shelf; tiny dolls as giftwrap decoration or tucked
into the pocket of a larger doll; church dolls, quiet as a mouse
when dropped; dolls with criers that protest the occasional summersault;
dolls that are happy or sad and dolls that obviously don't believe
a word you say!
Doll
making is a continual experiment for me, perhaps because I
am a restless spirit. In the beginning it was rag dolls from
patterns sent via a doll repair class. Next Raggedy Anns with
a pattern because of the traditional nature of the concept.
Then on to the "I can do this idea that's in my head" stage.
Rag dolls became cloth dolls, not raggedy at all. Last year
was the year of the papier mache doll and this year, the painted
cloth doll. See for yourself....
