My greatest reward is to reunite cherished dolls with their owners
so they can be displayed with pride once again.

Since I am conservative by nature, my entrance into the doll world was through repairing what already exists. As with so many other doll doctors and collectors, my first impulses came when it was time to toss out Mom's childhood doll; it broke my heart to do it because this little toy had lasted 90 years with only the loss of legs, one eye and a thick head of hair. I really thought I could sew a wig, mend her demented eye and sculpt her two new legs--and, of course, research and create an appropriate costume!

The 1880 bisque doll below needed a hand, leg with foot, and restored cloth body.
